Roadmap to Reopening Schools

Reopening Status

Estacada School District Families,

On January 19th, the Oregon Department of Education released new metrics to guide our district's safe reopening process. In accordance with those metrics, we reopened our elementary schools to K-1st grade hybrid learning on January 25th. We will tentatively reopen to 2-5th grade hybrid learning on February 8th.

Our secondary schools will continue to work simultaneously with staff to prepare for reopening and monitoring the metrics and the continued adjustments that are occurring at the state level.

A variety of factors influenced this decision including parent and employee voice, but a primary factor is the research that has emerged suggesting that elementary students are less susceptible and less infectious than older students. Safety, research, and the feedback we have received from local, state, and community partners -including families- continue to influence our decisions. We will continue to communicate updates on this evolving situation.

Thank you again for your continued patience, perseverance, and focus on student learning. We share this as a top priority, and look forward to continuing our methodical return to in-person learning.
