10/28 COVID-19 Update
Posted on 10/28/2020
On October 28th the Estacada School District was notified that there has been a confirmed case of COVID-19 at Clackamas River Elementary School. The adult with COVID-19 is at home self-isolating and monitoring for symptoms. Every person who came in close contact with the individual has been notified and will begin self-isolation and symptom monitoring today. No students have been identified as close contacts. In order to protect the privacy of the individuals, this will be the only information released by the district about these individuals.
We will work closely with Clackamas County Public Health to take additional steps to protect the health of our community. Based on the recommendations from Public Health, the following initial measures and extra precautions are being put in place:

  • The impacted building will continue to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected daily.
  • The district has notified impacted individuals that the health department determines to be a close contact (within 6 feet of the person with COVID-19 for more than 15 minutes) of the positive case.
  • Individuals who are determined to be in close contact with the confirmed case will be asked to work from home for 14 days following the exposure date.

We will continue to communicate with you regarding the details of this public health update in our community. At this time, and in accordance with public health, no buildings will be closed, and distance learning will continue as scheduled.

The best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is through wearing a face covering, practicing physical distancing, and practicing good health hygiene habits. Be sure to wash your hands frequently with soap and water, cover your coughs and sneezes, and avoid contact with people who have signs of illness.
