Reopening Update 11/3
Reopening Update 11/3
Posted on 11/03/2020
The Estacada School District opened the year in Comprehensive Distance Learning. We will remain in CDL until
Clackamas County meets the state's health metrics for returning to in-person learning
.
Health Metrics (required for transitioning to the hybrid model K-12)
Case rate: ≤50-100 cases per 100,000 population over 14 days
Test positivity: ≤5% in the preceding 7 days
To monitor health metrics in Clackamas County and across the state, please go to the
Oregon Health Authority website
. The district will provide updates as we near a possible transition to the hybrid model. To view the metrics in their entirety, please read page 16 of the state's
Ready Schools, Safe Learners guidance
.
On October 31st, Clackamas County had 111.5 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people. This spike moves our district out of both the green and yellow zones that would enable us to reopen schools, even with the less restrictive metrics that were recently announced.
At this time the district will continue to provide an education to students in our Comprehensive Distance Learning model through Thanksgiving break.
Our district will continue to monitor the metrics and will keep the community updated on the possibility of reopening schools as soon as the metrics allow us to safely do so.
Our district staff is eager for the opportunity to safely welcome students back onto campus. We will continue to prepare for the metrics to turn in our favor. Thank you again for partnering with us during a challenging time. We will continue to provide all students with access to a quality education regardless of the circumstances.
